Profiles and Preferences
How to add your bio to your profile and set your personal preferences...
Once you are logged in, you can click on your name in the upper right hand corner of the page to see your dashboard. In the upper right hand corner of the dashboard, you will notice links for "Profile," "Change Password," and "Personal Preferences." (If you click on "Profile" you will be able to view your current profile. "Change Password" is a form for changing your password. Duh.) You can set your preferences by clicking on "Personal Preferences." (Note: all of this is optional)
Click here to see the Plone User Guide for setting your preferences. Or...
Once you've clicked on "Personal Preferences," scroll down the list of preferences you can set. You do not have to set your geographical location, but you may if you wish. Leave the language settings as they are. You will notice a text box labeled "Biography." This is pretty self-explanatory. Type away!
You may also include a link to an external home page, if you have one.
You can select a content editor. By default, the editor is the Kupu editor. If you would rather hand-code your pages, you can drop the list down to select the Basic HTML editor.
Do not check the box to enable external editor - this has not been installed.
You can decide whether or not you want your name included in searches other users make on the site. By default, you are included. If you do not wish to be included in a user search, uncheck the Listed in Searches box.
You may upload a picture to add to your profile. It will be displayed at 75 pixels wide, by 100 pixels high. If you don't have an editor, you can resize your images here. Please be sure to optimize the photo for the web before uploading - click here. If too much server space is taken up with large file-size photos, I will have to delete them.
You can also delete your own photo by checking the Delete Portrait box and clicking Save.
Remember to click Save once you have set your preferences.
